Women's Hormone Replacement Therapy

Hormonal imbalance affects women of all ages, not just during menopause. Symptoms like mood swings, low energy, poor sleep and weight changes can come from shifting estrogen, progesterone or testosterone levels, and they can also come from other things.

Our women's HRT program takes a numbers-based approach: we measure first, then talk through your options with you.

Care for every stage, not just menopause

We see women in perimenopause, menopause and post-menopause, as well as women with other estrogen, progesterone or testosterone imbalances. Common reasons women reach out include:

  • Hot flashes and night sweats
  • Poor sleep and fatigue
  • Mood swings, irritability or anxiety
  • Brain fog and trouble focusing
  • Low libido, vaginal dryness or discomfort
  • Irregular periods
  • Weight gain, especially around the midsection
  • Thinning hair

The hormones we look at

  • Estrogen
  • Progesterone
  • Testosterone

Women naturally produce testosterone, so it's one of the three hormones we evaluate.

How your plan is built

We also encourage you to keep your OB/GYN or primary care provider in the loop about any hormone therapy you start.

01

Book a free consult.

Talk with our team about your symptoms and goals, in a clinic or by phone.

02

Your labs.

Your women's panel is drawn at a Summit clinic or a LabCorp location and includes estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, LH, FSH, prolactin and thyroid markers (TSH and T4), plus metabolic markers, lipids, a CBC, vitamin D and iron studies.

03

Your conversation.

You meet one-on-one with a licensed provider, in a clinic or by telehealth, to go through your results together with your symptoms, cycle history, health history and current medications.

04

Your options.

If hormone therapy is appropriate, your provider builds an individualized plan that may include estrogen, progesterone and, when appropriate, testosterone. Bioidentical hormone options are available.

05

Your follow-up.

Your plan is adjusted over time based on follow-up labs and how you feel. Medication and supplies ship to your home, and your care team is available for questions between visits.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do you treat perimenopause, or only menopause?

Both. Summit's women's hormone therapy is for women in perimenopause, menopause and post-menopause, as well as other estrogen, progesterone and testosterone imbalances. Your provider looks at your symptoms and labs together to decide whether treatment fits.

What's included in the women's hormone panel?

The women's panel includes estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, LH, FSH, prolactin and thyroid markers (TSH and T4), along with metabolic markers, lipids, a CBC, vitamin D and iron studies.

Do you offer bioidentical hormones?

Yes, bioidentical hormone options are available. Your provider will explain which options fit your labs, history and preferences.

Do women use testosterone too?

Women naturally produce testosterone, so it's one of the three hormones we evaluate, along with estrogen and progesterone. Your provider will discuss whether testosterone belongs in your plan based on your labs and symptoms.

Can I do follow-ups from home?

Yes. You can meet your provider at one of our clinics or by telehealth, and many follow-ups can happen virtually. Medication and supplies ship to your home.
